Red Bull Culture Clash To Bring Out Music Stars In Atlanta

Trap music is everywhere. From gaining notoriety through musicians such as T.I., Gucci Mane, Migos and more, the rap genre continues to grow and reach more listeners. An upcoming event in the birthplace of the sound- Atlanta– will see just how far reaching trap can go.

Red Bull’s upcoming Culture Clash (which will be held on Friday, Aug. 24) will pit budding and legendary producers in the trap genre against music makers from other realms such as electronic and reggae in a one-of-a-kind live music experience. Angela Yee, host of Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, will serve as the event’s host.

On four separate stages, crews featuring some big names in music such as Lecrae and Rico Nasty will put their skills to the test while producers like Zaytoven (with Zaytoven Global), dancehall artist Kranium (with Frequent Flyers), Latin-trap fusion producer Fuego (with Firebox Sound) and electronic hitmakers Mija & Kenny Beats (with Don’t Think) work their magic to create memorable sounds for the audience.

Only one winner can be crowned at the end of the night, and the winner will have the “heaviest sound, the best tunes, the most effective MC tactics, and the most entertaining presentation.” As with old-school battles in the earlier days of hip-hop, callouts, disses, and general smack-talk is encouraged. With the game being in its 45th year, this requirement couldn’t feel more authentic.

Last year’s culture clash event, which celebrated the beauty of Caribbean and dancehall sounds, featured celebrity appearances from the likes of Pusha T, Rae Sremmurd and Ludacris, so there’s no telling who may roll through. Keep it locked to VIBE for a recap and interviews with the crew captains.
