Amber Midthunder is an actress with a Native American heritage. Midthunder was born in New Mexico and belongs to the Assiniboine tribe.

The Assiniboine people, also known as Nakota, originally lived in the Northern Great Plains of North America. Today many federally recognized bands of Assiniboine, Nakota, Lakota, and Dakota people live at the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, which is located near Fort Peck, Montana.

The actress was born to her parents Angelique and David on 26 April 1997. Midthunder's mother is originally from Thailand and is a casting director and stunt performer by profession. Her father, David, is an actor who met Angelique on the set of the Japanese film East Meets West.

The New Mexican was passionate about acting from an early age and got an initial push when she shared the screen with Oscar winner Alan Arkin in Sunshine Cleaning at the age of nine. 

The American has been widely successful on TV and made appearances in hit series such as Banshee, Longmire, The Originals, and Legion. The most recent involvement the actress is in the series Roswell, New Mexico, where she plays the role of Rosa Ortecho.

The 26-year-old has done feature films with high-profile celebrities. The actress appeared alongside Jeff Bridges and Chris Pine in the 2016 movie Hell or High Water and Liam Neeson and Laurence Fishburne in the 2021 movie The Ice Road. Her latest venture was the action-adventure sci-fi movie Prey in 2022, where she played the lead character Naru.
